Sloth III has eight starting character classes and one advanced class. Each player chooses (ranked in order) four of the eight classes. This choice is final; the only way to get a different set of classes is to create a new character.
The eight starting classes are bard, [[Cleric|cleric], druid, mage, monk, necromancer, thief, and warrior. Once a character reaches maximum level (which is 40) in all four of his starting classes, he will become an avatar, which gives him access to new, more powerful abilities and spells. The exact spells and abilities available to avatars depend upon the player's four initial classes.
