Hanging above a great bottomless pit filled with flame and furious, burning liquid is a great citadel of the ruled of the lower plane, Asmodeus. Its great golden dome looks out over the plane in nearly all directions as it sways back and forth under the forces of the rumbling torrents of flame far below. The air about the citadel is filled with winged beasts and the legions loyal to Asmodeus. The sounds of torment and anguish echo from the cavernous walls of the plane, and huge billowing clouds of smoke and ash rise into the air, filled with glowing embers that extinguish themselves as they reach their zeniths.
