It had been long believed by the reptilian lord, Sess'Inek, that the key to conquering the Island in the name of the Demoness Lolth was capturing the city of Thalassas. After years of planning, Lord Sess'Inek finally convinced the dark queen to build and lead an army against the unwary inhabitants of the capital city. For years, he and his legions hid in the jungles to the northwest of the city across the plains, building and recruiting the inhabitants thirsty for spoils. After several years, Lord Sess'Inek finally built his army and the die was cast.
Lord Sess'Inek sent a correspendence to Lolth announcing his army's readiness and his willingness to serve her. But the message was intercepted, and in a brave assault to intercept Sess'Inek's legions, the peoples of the Island with help from the other five continent made a pre-emptive strike against Lord Sess'Inek. Beaten and disgraced, Lord Sess'Inek crawled back to his queen and begged her forgiveness. The dark Queen, Lolth, denied forgiveness and exiled him away from the comforts of her palace to live out his days there in the jungles as reminder of his failure.
Lord Sess'Inek, wrought with despair and embarrassment, retreated to his temple deep within the island jungle where he, rumoured by the natives of the area, plans his assault. In the meantime, his plans are secretive and his network of spies and informants are deep and silent. But no matter how long he waits, his bloodthirst for command and power will one day erupt again. At least, that's what the Thalassian mothers tell their children at night.
