This haunting melody was taught to bards long ago by the Sidhe, a race
of dangerous and, some say, beautiful beings that come from another plane.
While this song doesn't compel the Sidhe to do anything in particular,
it usually gets them to show up. At that point if offered a suitable
reward and the correct materials, they will sculpt a rune that can then
be socketed into any armor or weapon that does not currently have one.
Different sorts of Sidhe might show up depending on the power of the
requested spell. The wise bard will have an appropriate reward for their
time ready; it's best to place the award on the ground, along with any
materials needed for the desired rune, BEFORE casting the spell. Sidhe
are mercurial and likely to take it badly if the reward isn't there.
See 'help sidhe' for more information on what the different types of
Sidhe might want as a reward. The sidhe will also need five of the same
gem in order to create the rune.
Each gem has a rarity level, this level decides additional costs the sidhe
charge to create the rune. The easiest gem to come across appears to cost
50 mana and 100,000 coins on top of the cost the sidhe charge just to show
In general the type of Sidhe that shows up is as follows:
Gem Rarity Sidhe
1 Fear Gorta
3 Leith Phrogan
5(rarest) Fear Sidhe
Note: do NOT attack the Sidhe. Consider the words "never seen again".
