It is possible to exert finer control over magic from this stratum than any other. In general the degree of control increases and the power level decreases as strata become more removed from our world. The entity living in the Necromancy strata makes it unsuitable for fine control, leaving this sixth layer as the best choice. This is the only layer than can be used for spells that work directly on the mind, which is the most delicate of operations. <helpfile>
