A skilled bard can work any topic into an enthralling lay. This is a great
way to elicit information from the native folk of a region. The famed
Song of Wealth and Glory is customized with each singing to draw out the
audience into telling what they know about a specific famous item. Rather
than magically scrying out a specific item (in the manner of the 'locate
object' spell) this song instead produces information about where the
item has historically resided.

The closer a listener is to the home of an item, the more likely he is
to have a tidbit of useful information. If the audience denies any
knowledge of the topics mentioned in the song, it means that no such item
exists on their land mass. Listeners on the same continent as the item
may have heard rumors of its existence from travelers. As the bard gets
closer and closer to the source of the item, more specific information will
become available. Famous skalds who have devoted themselves to the bard's
craft will sometimes be given more useful answers than casual strummers.

Certain items are known to be forbidden subjects for discussion, and so
cannot be tracked down with this song.
