While the act of meditation and the focusing of inner power is an
intrinsic part of every monk's daily routine, only those most dedicated
to their role are able to attain a state of pure thought. A monk who
has achieved this meditative trance is able place his consciousness
within several planes of existence at once.

Those highly trained monks have refined this skill and taken the
transference between planes one step further by allowing not only the mind
to exist, but the body as well. Always in search of new and better methods
for the defense of their monasteries, the monks quickly devised the skill
known as wraithtouch. A monk trained in the use of wraithtouch possesses
the ability to reach across time and space, and grab hold of a creature who
would otherwise be nothing more than a spirit within the monk's reality.

Once the transference has been made the creature is consumed by the monk's
paralyzing embrace. Spirits captured by wraithtouch suffer severe
damage and will find they are limited in their ability to fight or flee.
