A good thief always learns as much as possible about his foes before
attacking them, so he can exploit any weaknesses (and so he doesn't get
in over his head.) Any lowly street-corner goon can use the 'consider'
command to get a rough idea of a potential victim's strength, but the
greatest thieves have refined the art of estimation. This is embodied
in the 'study' skill.

Studying someone gives a much more detailed breakdown of their abilities
than simply considering them. You receive general impressions of their
toughness, skill in combat, defensive abilities, how hard they hit, and
also any particular strengths and weaknesses they might have. Studying
a person once may not reveal all of this - it may take several attempts.

It is best not to be noticed when doing this. Your target may not have
been born yesterday - he might be pretty irked that you are sizing him
up for an attack.

Unlike 'consider', 'study' describes someone on an absolute scale - it's
not relative to the student's own power.
