This powerful extension of a thief's defining trait (the ability,
and desire, to pilfer) allows him to steal magic spells from the
very ether around his victim. If a purloiner of auras fails, or
even if he succeeds but is too clumsy about it, the target will
notice you poking around in his soul and generally will not take it
very well. Be aware that the spell must actually be present for
this to work; the 'detect magic' spell is good for that purpose, or
one can just steal the more visible spells like 'sanctuary'. Only
spells that were cast by some sort of spellcaster may be stolen
in this manner.

Some spells don't play well together. If you try to steal a spell
that you wouldn't be able to cast on yourself because of other
magic you currently bear, you may still be able to steal it but it
will get lost before you can use it yourself.
